It's a very very deadly cancer, very hard to cure.
The disorder occurs in middle- or older-aged people, with the first symptom often being dull pain in the upper abdomen that may radiate into the back. Of all the cancers, it has the highest death rate. In England, 7000 people are being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every year.

Research has shown that
women who consume a lot of white bread, white rice and potatoes(all contains high amount of starch) increase the chances of contracting this cancer by 57% !! Obesity and lack of exercise are also increases the chances by 2.5 times!!
When we consume food that contains high amount of starch, our body secretes more
insulin.
The more the insulin, the higher the chance of getting pancreatic cancer.

"Pancreatic cancer is sometimes called a "silent disease" because early pancreatic cancer often does not cause symptoms, and the later symptoms are usually non-specific and varied. Common symptoms include:

- Diets low in vegetables and fruits
- Diets high in red meat
- Obesity
- Diabetes mellitus
- Chronic pancreatitis has been linked, but is not known to be causal
- Helicobacter pylori infection
- Occupational exposure to certain pesticides, dyes, and chemicals related to gasoline
- Family history, 5-10% of pancreatic cancer patients have a family history of pancreatic cancer.
- Alcohol might be a risk factor "
PREVENTIONDoctors recommend keeping a healthy weight, and increasing consumption of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains while decreasing red meat intake, although there is no consistent evidence that this will prevent or reduce pancreatic cancer specifically.Also,
B vitamins such as
B12,
B6, and
folate, can reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer when consumed in food, but not when ingested in vitamin tablet form.
Conclusion:It can happen to both females and males. It'd be nice to tell your friends and people whom you care for about this. Especially your mums. Always go for regular check-ups!
